Yesterday was the last day of summer and it felt like autumn. Today is the first day of autumn and it feels like summer. The rest of the week should be even more summer-like, with a high each day near 80.
I don’t know how many more days like this we’re going to have this year, so Jennifer and I are filling up our social calendar this week with outdoor get-togethers. We’re having dinner outdoors at the Nassau Club for my mother’s birthday tomorrow, cocktails on our deck Thursday with our friends Greg and Lee and again on Saturday with another friend named Greg. On Friday we’re driving out to the Jersey shore for a walk on the beach.
We’re sucking up every bit of nice weather before Mother Nature forces us indoors for what I expect will be an exceptionally lonely winter.
