I miss people. I’ve never been someone who travels in order to see a place. I usually travel to see a friend, or a couple of friends, who happen to live somewhere else . . . Over the last few years I’ve thought about going to see a friend in Brooklyn and a friend in Canada, but I didn’t get around to it. Now I’m kicking myself . . .

My Father’s Obituary
I’m going to cheat today and post something I wrote before I started this blog: my father’s obituary. He died a bit more than a month ago. I have two friends who I consider to be exceptionally good writers. One of them, my wife’s brother-in-law Tom, wrote obituaries for both his parents (and even wrote an entire book about their lives together), so I asked him to send me his father’s obituary so I could use it as a model.
